Objective:
The pure Eulerian analysis capability in Abaqus/Explicit allows for effective modeling of applications involving extreme deformation, including fluid flow. The Eulerian capability can be coupled with traditional Lagrangian capabilities to model interactions between highly deformable materials and relatively stiff bodies, such as in fluid-structure interactions. This seminar teaches users how to:
- Create an appropriate Eulerian mesh
- Define the initial material location within an Eulerian mesh
- Apply initial conditions, boundary conditions, and loads to material in the Eulerian domain
- Use general contact to model Eulerian-Lagrangian interactions
- Model fluids using the equation of state material model
- Visualize material boundaries within the Eulerian domain
Who should attend:
This seminar is recommended for engineers with experience using Abaqus.
Schedule:
This course is presented in two lecture sessions from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CT; lectures and demos will be presented by the instructor during this time. There is a one-hour break in the middle of each lecture session (12:30 - 1:30 p.m. CT). The workshop sessions are conducted offline with technical support provided by SIMULIA Central via email and telephone from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. CT.

Academic Discount
A discounted registration fee of $200 is offered to all academic institutions on a space available basis. This discount cannot be combined with the multiple attendee discount. The registrations with the academic discount will not include workshop support.
What is included:
Electronic copies of the training notes will be provided to each registrant for their personal use. Every registrant will also receive a free copy of Abaqus Student Edition – a $99 value. Many of the topics covered in this course can be practiced using Abaqus Student Edition; however, to ensure that you can perform all the course workshops fully, you will need access to a licensed copy of Abaqus. No additional Abaqus licenses will be provided.
